HOME AUTOMATION

We believe home automation should enhance your life, not complicate it. That’s why we design all our systems around simplicity and reliability, ensuring a positive experience for everyone, regardless of age or technology experience

1. Reliable Networking Infrastructure

We start by ensuring a rock-solid networking foundation, as a reliable network is the backbone of any smart home. This involves assessing your existing network and optimizing it for seamless connectivity. If we determine the existing infrastructure is not up to task, we suggest improvements or replace it with a more robust solution, ensuring all devices communicate flawlessly without interruptions. If you have an IT company managing your systems, we collaborate with them to meet all requirements without disrupting your daily functions.

2. Third-Party Systems Integration

Next, we review your home, discussing the various devices you want automated. As each manufacturer has its own hardware and software, we ensure you understand how each brand integrates into Control4 and the overall home, and what level of control and functionality to expect. This facilitates informed decisions, ensuring intuitive control over all aspects of your home, including lighting, climate, security, and entertainment, all from a single interface.

3. Failover/Redundancy planning

We ensure that every sub-system functions as a complete, standalone solution, independent of the main house’s control. Your air conditioner can operate using the normal controller, the lights can still be controlled by a regular light switch, and your front door can still be unlocked manually by a key. This serves two purposes: it allows for independent control regardless of the state of any other product in the house, leading to a resilient home; and it allows for ease of use for guests and visitors who may be accustomed to traditional controls. Additionally, this approach provides greater long-term choice. In the event the house is sold in the future, the new owner can choose to adapt the automation system to their own needs or use the house manually as they normally would.

4. Installation and Setup

Our skilled team handles all necessary tasks to complete the installation, from cabling and electrical work to configuring smart devices and programming the Control4 system. If you prefer to use your own contractors during the build stage, we can provide detailed installation plans for each trade, along with regular site visits to monitor progress and answer questions, ensuring nothing is lost in translation.

5. Custom Functionality Tailored to Your Needs

Our team creates custom automation solutions tailored to your specific needs, enhancing convenience and efficiency. We also ensure easy accessibility for those with disabilities, tailoring the system to meet a wide variety of needs. Whether it’s setting up automated lighting and blind schedules, voice commands, integrating security systems, or creating custom user interfaces like joysticks, we ensure your home automation experience is intuitive and user-friendly regardless of your needs.

6. Remote Support, Feature Rollout, and Continuous Improvement

With your permission, we can also remotely service your home. We often find that your behavior changes a few months after moving into your new home as you adapt to it. We frequently check in, allowing us to make changes to suit these behaviors, ensuring you get the best usability out of your home automation system without needing to send a technician on-site. This also enables us to send out new features and important updates without disturbing you or your family.
